Project Update

David Evans and Associates, Inc. was awarded a professional services contract on July 24, 2024, to provide project design.

What is this project going to accomplish?

The project includes full roadway and utility improvements where needed on West Sumach Street from North 4th Avenue to North 6th Avenue. The work north of the 4th Avenue bridge and 6th Avenue bridge will tie into these improvements. Pedestrian ADA ramp upgrades will also be completed at the intersections of 4th Avenue and Cherry Street and 4th Avenue and Oak Street. This is in preparation for road surface improvements on 4th Avenue from Sumach Street to Pine Street tentatively scheduled for Summer 2026.

How will this project be funded?

The total project cost is estimated at $1.5 million. It is funded primarily by water and sewer rates associated with the Infrastructure Repair and Replacement Program (IRRP).
