2023 Pavement Maintenance Projects

The following projects are subject to budget, availability of labor and/or utility repair needs:

  • 15th Avenue - Rees Avenue to Moore Street - 2" Overlay
  • Moore Street - 15th Avenue to 13th Avenue - 2" Overlay
  • Cruthers Street - Rose Street to Dead End - 2" Overlay
  • Ankeny Street - Whitman Street to Discovery Place - 2" Overlay
  • Annie Laurie Street - Rees Avenue to George Street - 2" Overlay
  • Bridge Street - Ruth Street south to project limits - Grind/Inlay
  • Bowman Street - Dell Avenue to Elm Street - 2" Overlay
  • Wallowa Drive - Fern Avenue to Scarpelli Street - 2" Overlay
  • North Rose Street - Pacific Avenue to Sumach Street - Grind/Inlay
  • 4th Avenue - Chestnut Street to Maple Street - Grindy/Inlay
  • 4th Avenue - Rees Avenue north to RR tracks - 2" Overlay

Crack Sealing

  • Pleasant Street:  Division Street to School Avenue
  • Fern Avenue:  Whitman Street to Reser Road
  • Palouse Street:  Rose Street to Mill Creek Bridge
  • Park Street:  Main Street to Boyer Avenue
  • Moore Street:  2nd Avenue to Dead End
  • Residential Streets:  Between Chestnut Street and Alder Street.  If completed move to between Alder Street and Isaacs Avenue

Definitions

  • Rebuild:  Excavation of the existing street to the roadbed and the rebuilding of the road bed and surface layers of the street.
  • Overlay:  Application of a surface layer of asphalt or asphaltic concrete.
  • Grind/Inlay:  Grind 2" of existing asphalt and inlay new asphalt.
  • Skin Pave:  A thin asphalt lift is placed directly on pavement without any milling.
  • Spot/Rut Repair: The damaged portion of the roadway is removed and the underlying issue(s) that cause the failure are remedied before the patch is replaced with new asphalt.
  • Crack Sealing:  The injection of hot tar or asphalt into cracks and paving seams.
  • HMA:  Hot mix asphalt
