 Cookerly

Project Update

The Cookerly IRRP project, originally planned for 2022 construction was delayed until 2023 due to unforeseen staffing changes, material cost escalation, and other large 2022 construction projects. Bids were opened on December 1, 2022, and the project was awarded to Premier Excavation on December 21, 2022.

During construction, the contractor is required to maintain one traffic lane in each direction at the Wellington-Hwy 12 underpass.

What is this project going to accomplish?

The 2023 Cookerly IRRP project will replace failing water and sewer utilities on Cookerly Drive from Wellington Avenue to Blue Mountain Drive, and on Wellington Avenue from J Street to Glen Erin Drive, and on J Street from Wellington Avenue to Ash Street.  The roadway will be rebuilt, and the stormwater facilities will be upgraded. ADA compliant cement concrete curb ramps will be installed at intersections within the project limits.

Project Schedule

Construction began on May 8th and was completed at the end of November.

The contractor is currently finishing punch-list items and general site cleanup. Contractor will make contact with residents for landscape restoration signoff.

How will this project be funded?

The project is funded primarily by water and sewer rates associated with the Infrastructure Repair and Replacement Program (IRRP).
